INTERNATIONAL BODY

A conference is to be held in Australia at which the New Zealand Association.will be represented by.Mr. R. Gracie, and amongst the business to-be discussed is the question of affiliation • with either, the International Hockey Board or the Fedei-a-tion Internationale de Hockey. /This matter has been very fully discussed at various meetings of the management committee. . When it was first brought up the f/eling was that New Zealand should join, the British organisation, that is the International Hockey Board, but there are two main reasons which have now caused a change of mind. The first is that it has been impossible to obtain any indication from the board that they either wish or would even allow New Zealand to join; the second is that it appears to be necessary for New Zealand to join the federation if New Zea-

landers are to take part in the Olympic Games, and it may become necessary to join if they wish to play with any affiliated country, for example, India. It has therefore been decided to advise the delegate that the New Zealand Association is of opinion that Australia and New Zealand should affiliate with the Federation Internationale de Hockey.
