WASTE LANDS

DEVELOPMENT URGED

The development of more land was considered by the annual conference of the New Zealand Farmers' Union yesterday, and the opinion was expressed that much of the land that has gone out of use could be utilised. A remit urging the Government to go into the question of its undeveloped lands with a view to making these lands, under practical supervision, productive and revenue-producing, was carried. A similar remit referring to deteriorated lands was also carried.
