NO PRELIMINARY SCHOOLS
Irish Comet, winner of the Great Northern and Winter Steeplechases last week, did not do any preliminary schooling over the Ellerslie fences during the week prior to'the races, so that the track touts gained no line on?his possibilities. However, as he won on the course in March it was at least known that the country had no fears for him., ~ ~,,-, , It is recalled that gallant little Aurora Borealis, another of Day Comet's ■ offspring, had never seen: the Riccarton country when she went out tocontest the Grand-National SteepleChase that she won. On the first circuit H. Dulieu let her have a good look.at each fence as she came to it, but after that she got down to business. ....
