A JOURNALIST'S TRIBUTE
Of the late Mr. Robert Derrett, who died last, week in Christchurch, a friend of many years' standing, "Sentinel," of the . "Otago - Daily Times," writes that his record as a rider does not supply any real indication of his horsemanship, because he never rushed about the country from one meeting to another. "It is sufficient to say that he rode with almost unparalleled ability and never lost a race that he should have won. That is the greatest tribute that can be paid to any rider."
