Red, y^hite'.'-arid:,blue streamers and a numjber of large coloured sketches made an attractive, setting for the revels, and ya blazing open: fire completed the gen--feral atmosphere of gaiety and good cheery ?."■/'■ ?3 •V. A short, "community -sing" of many rif the old English favourites corn■menced'the,programme, and a paper crowij-makin'g competition with a community" prize', attached created much happy •fivalfyii'.y"A Day at Ascot" with ythe'riariies of the "favourites" painted in large letters on: their cardboard : sides, caused much merriment, and a "Kings and Queens of England" competition afforded an opportunity for refreshing the minds on historical events. The prize for a novelty telegram to the King was won by Miss D. Luff. "Dreafning John," by John Masefield, was rendered to 7,an appreciative audienceby Miss Aiidrea Lawson, and Miss L. W. Bridgmari (general secretary Y.W.C:A.): gave a short address on the work of the association, and the desirability of an ever-increasing membership. A number of the guests showed their interest in the club by filling iv membership forms, and many happy club nights during the winter months are anticipated. A novel supper was served by members, and the singing of "Auld Lang Syne" concluded the programme.
