A gre.-,t. many .old, Wellington friends will learn' with deep regret of the death o£ Mrs. Alloway, of Levin, who passed away at a private hospital in , Wellington after a, brief illness
Mrs. Alloway, who was a daughter of the late Bishop Hadfield and spent her early life in Wellington, will be remembered as, being of a particularly charming and-gentle'disposition. She made and kept her friends throughout her life, and was always ready to help and comfort others. Just recently she was not' very well, but her illness took a sudden turn and she came to Wellington accompanied by her brother, Mr. Frank Hadfield, of Wanganui. All seemed well till late yesterday, when it was seen that she •was not so well, and she passed away peacefully in her sleep. Mrs. Alloway has four .stepdaughters. Her other brother, is Mr, Ernest Hadfield, of Wellington,"/ her siStenT being -Mrs. John Marshall,'of Tutu Totara, Marton, and Miss Amy Hadfield, who is^ living in London,.,". \ The funeral "will fake place tomorrow at Tutu Totara, Purewa, near Marton.!
