OBITUARY
MISS SADD.
Lovers of art will regret the passing away of Miss Sadd, who for so many years, in conjunction with Miss -NJonesy Mrs. Topllss, Colonel Br&rifill, and others, did miich; to'foster a love of painting in this community, states the "Nelson Mail."- She was a daughter of Mr. James B. Sadd, affectionately remembered ,by many, of our elder citizens, as an excellent schoolteacher. After completing 'her education at Mrs;' Pickett's private school she devoted herself to a study of art which .was . her main interest for the rest of hef lif^y 'Under the tuition of Colonel Branfill "she made great progress and passed' with distinction the examinations that used to be'held-in New Zealand by the South Kensington Aft School. As a member of the Bishopdale Sketching Club and later of the Suter Art Society she pr^aced and exhibited a large amount of admirable work in both oil and watercolours. She also-held ' aft classes, which were very popular. For some years past failing health has curtailed her activities, but the excellent service she rendered to the cause of art in. Nelson ' deserves to be long remembered,-.'
