ATHENIANS CELEBRATE

Yet. another gay Coronation dance took place last night, being that held by.the Athenians in., the' Pharmacy Hall, .Cambridge. ' Terrace.. The :. .hall was soy lavishly'and painstakingly. ,de r corated in. patriotic colours 'that.-, .its farpiliar interior was almost completely effaced. Overhead there was a dense canopy .of red,-, white, and . blue .streamers .with large, paper, bells at intervals; the walls .were, cover c.d. with numerous/ plaques bearing, coloured, portraits; of members, of the Royal Family, one of their: Majesties, the King and Queen folding, pride of place above the entrance. All the.cabaret tables were decked: with Ted, white, and blue flowers and bore/dishes of sweets in. the same shades; and the orchestra dais, was covered,with the national "; colours. : The suppei--rpom wai almost equally gay. The president, Mr. E, Loader, who was accompanied.- by' Mrs. Loader, made a speech" welcoming new members, and referred to. the. Coronation. Between dances entertaining, items were' given, the programme being arranged by Mrs. C.. M./Howard,'Miss R." Walshaw, Mr. L. W. Grefenwood, and' Mr. R. S, Walshaw

The Athenian Club's parties are. invariably. a 1 success, but this one, as be-' fitted the occasion/was undoubtedly the most successful of all. /There,was .a very large attendance, and everyone was imbued with the, spirit of the.celebration. . ./., /. .
