TO BE ABSOEBED
WAIKATO DAIRY CONCERN
RATIONALISED SERVICES
'(By Telegraph—Tress Association.)
HAMILTON, This Day.
",It was announced fey the Commission of Agriculture today that a Waikato Valley dairy company proprietary concern with an.output of approximately 5000 tons is to be absorbed by Waikato co-operative companies, the price agreed upon, subject to certain adjustments, being approximately £44,000. The' Commission for t some months has been assisting in negotiations between the Waikato Valley company and a group of co-operative companies, the understanding being that in the event of a purchase being effected all other co-operative companies are entitled to participate ! on equal terms with the original purchasing companies. The purchase opens the way to rationalisation of cream collection services and butter-making activities in the Waikato and surrounding districts. A meeting of air companies interested will be called, by the Commission .within the next, few weeks, when details of the plan will be discussed underlying the desire to effect rationalisation of services with the least posr sible! disturbance; to- suppliers and on a< basis to permit suppliers to. exercise a reasonable choice of factories .while reducing the uneconomic overlapping that now exists. . ■ -.. : . .
