A meeting of the New Zealand RugbyUnion's management' committee was held'last night, those present being 'Messrs. S. S. Dean (chairman), F. Glasgow, A. McDonald, W. J. Wallace, Kingi Tahiwi (Maori Advisory fibard representative), and' A. E. Neilson (secretary), and 'Lieut-Colonel J. G. Roache. 'An inquiry was made by the Cana.dian Rugby Union as to whether the New Zealand Union would consider a tour by a team from Canada in the near future. ,The letter stated ,the union considered it had sufficient material for the purpose. Canada had a tentative invitation from "England, but .this had not yet been worked out. It was decided to recommend to the annual .meeting that in view'of the standard ■: of play in Canada) no action be taken. The secretary's'reply to the "Wanganui union that the committee regretted its inability to arr.ange 'f or a match against the Souih African team to be played at Wanganui was .confirmed. A request was • received. from the Otago Rugby Union for information : as to what action the committee proposed with respect1 to the reversion to the old kick-into-touch rule. It was agreed ,to advise.' Qtago that this matter would be decided by the annual meeting on April 21. It was pointed out that only one .Saturday of club matches would have been played under the amended rule before the annual meeting. Mr. E. McKenzie, Wairarapa, notified that be would be attending the Marist Spillane Cup tournament at Palmerston North during Easter as a.New Zealand selector, - ■ Applications from the following players in the Horowhenua union for reinstatement were granted:—H. Te Hana, R. Te Hana, John Huff, Alfred Cook, L. Barrett, P. Ropata. The secretary reported that a letter from a body of men at Aniseed ,Creek who desired ,to form' a sub:unioh was forwarded to the Canterbury'and Marlborough unions. . .
