GLEADOW—SMITH.

St. Peter's Church, Willis Street, was the scene of an attractive wedding recently when Lorna May (Doone), second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. D. Braid, Wellington, was married to Stanley Albert, son of Mr.: and Mrs. J. E. Gleadow, Napier. The Venerable Archdeacon Bullock officiated. Mr. Shortt was in attendance at the organ, and Miss Zell O'Kane sang Schubert's "Aye Maria" during the service. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a beautifully-cut gown of magnolia satin falling into a very long fish-tail train. The squarecut, neckline came to a shallow point in front where a cluster of large pearls nestled against the creamy satin. Her cloud-like veil was held in place by a coronet of unusual design, being made 1 with strands of pearls twisted into1 coils' across the head. A bouquet of lilium auratum was carried. An attractive bevy of bridesmaids was comprised of Misses Zoe Gordon (chief), Oriel James, and Ina Lees, with little Miss Patty Esdaile as a pretty flower girl. The bridesmaids wore charming frocks of magnolia georgette, made with I diagonally pin-tucked' bodices and hipyokes, draped sleeves, and long skirts

sweeping into graceful trains. Their picture hats were of crinoline straw, with a tiny ruching round the crown threaded with deep red velvet ribbon that hung in long streamers at the back, and matched their trailing bouquets of red roses and fern. The little maid wore blue and pink sprigged triple ninon, with a circlet of blue and pink ■flowers on her hair.

The bridegroom was attended by. Mr. Lockie Williams (Napier) as best man, with Messrs. W. R. Kemball, jun. (Wellington), and . Alan Greenslade (Nelson) as groomsmen. Messrs. David Barnett and Fred. Desmond assisted as ushers at the church. ..

Besides many Wellington friends, there were relatives and friends from both islands at the wedding, and nearly 200 guests were afterwards received by the bride's mother, Mrs. F..D. Braid, and Mr. .Braid, with the bridegroom's parents, at the reception in the Palm Lounge of the St. George Hotel. Mr. Herbert Wood, singing a bracket of popular and appropriate songs, created a pleasant interlude during the festivities. Mrs. F. D. Braid was' smartly attired in' navy blue pin-tucked mariette, trimmed with hand-worked faggoting at the neck, navy hat, and accessories and fox furs. Mrs. Gleadow's attractive tunic frock in the new brown was inset with beige satin, the colours being repeated in her smart model hat. - .. .:.

The bride's going-away, ensemble was an American model of Gloucester green sheer crepe. It had gauntlet cuffs and collar of green eire braid, and was worn. with a squirrel cape (a gift of the bridegroom) and a'little green hat. Mr. and Mrs. Gleadow will take up residence at 68 Kelbiirn Parade.
