WEDDINGS

SAULBREY—HAYES

The wedding was solemnised at St. Peter and Paul's Church, Lower Hutt, recently, of .Hannah Mary, eldest daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. H. J. Hayes, Lower Hutt, to John Cecil, fourth son of Mrs. and the late Mr. T. L. Saulbrey, Lower Hutt. The Rev. Father Daly performed the ceremony and Mrs. McGurk played the wedding' music.

The bride, who was escorted by her brother, Mr. C. Hayes, wore a graceful gown of cream lace over satin. Cut on classical lines, the frock had tight-fitting sleeves, tapering to a point over the hands, 'the square neckline being finished with diamante clips. A panel at the back of the frock was formed into a train from the waistline, and over this fell the tulle veil (lent by a friend), which was arranged on the head with a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of'cream gladioli. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Monica Hayes, who wore a charming frock of turquoise taffeta, slightly trained, the back being ornamented with tiny silver lame buttons. The sleeves were leg o' mutton gathered at the wrist with bands of silver lame, the neckline being finished with large petals of silver lame. ' She wore a silver lame halo, and carried a sheaf of pale pink gladioli. Mr. D.. Saulbrey was best man. A reception was held at the Horticultural Hall, where only relations and intimate friends attended. To receive her guests Mrs. Hayes wore a tobaccobrown georgette ensemble, with brown hat ornamented with orange flowers, and carried a bouquet of French marigolds. The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Saulbrey, wore a navy blue georgette ensemble with navy hat, and carried a bouquet of pink roses and carnations. ■ ' When the bride left she wore a jumper suit of pin-striped crepe de chine, in crush strawberry shade, with nigger-brown accessories to match.'
