ST. JOHN AMBULANCE
HUTT RAILWAY DIVISION
The second meeting of "the 1537 season of the Hutt Valley 'Railway Division of the St. John Ambulance "was held'in the Workshops .Social Hall recently. Divisional Superintendent; R. C. Horwell presided over an attend* ance of-forty members and friends.
A motion of sympathy with Mr. S. W. G. Recs in the death of his wife was carried.
The divisional secretary reported 1 that an- anonymous donation of 10s had been received as "an expression of appreciation for services rendered by a member of the division;"
Dr. J. A. Doctor gave a very interest* ing address on "The ■ Eye." His remarks were illustrated by1 a model and a chart. At the conclusion of the address several questions were asked and the speaker received a hearty vote of thanks. *
Arrangements were made for members to attend the children's fancydress party at the Hutt'Workshops and cricket at the Lower Hutt Recreation Grounds. . * .
It was decided to hold first-aid classes tor railwaymen at the Workshops. The classes are to begin on Thursday. March 4, and Dr. Rix will commence his lectures on "Thursday, March 11. The dhfiion will meet again on Thursday, March 4,. when <J3erjgt.vE. R. Menzics and Corporal H. P. Wood will instruct members in the treatment of fractures and methods of dmproviswg. • ,
