CRIPPLED CHILDREN

PICNIC AT DAY'S BAY,

The Wellington Crippled1 Children Society held a picnic at Day's Bay on Tuesday, despite adverse weather conditions. . Forty children were driven to the bay in motor-cars provided by willing helpers, and spent a jolly time playing suitable games in the spacious pavilion. A really festive meal was served, proving one of the most popular features of the proceedings.

The society intends to hold similar outings and other entertainments for the children, and the public could materially assist by forwarding donations to the hon. treasurer, Mr. E. Hunt, Featherston Street.

The thanks of the society are due to the following:—For gifts and donations: Lady Myers, Mrs. D. Bennett, Mrs. McEwen, Mrs. Anderson (Bpwen Street Hospital), Nestles, Whittakers, New Zealand Paper Mills, Ltd., Mrs. Weston, Mr. Stevens (Wellesley College), Mrs. Herbert. For cars provided and help given in entertaining the' children;— Vacuum Oil Co., Mrs. Ilott, Miss Firth, Miss B. Black, Mrs. C. E. W. Levin, Mrs. Millen Paulin, Miss Morice, Mrs. N.
