TRAFFIC CONTROL

OFFICER PROMOTED

Mr. J. E. Ainsworth, of the Main Highways Board, who has been inspector in the Hutt Valley for seven years, has been promoted to be chief traffic inspector in the Auckland transport district and will leave to _ take up his new duties next week. He is the senior inspector in the service and will have thirteen inspectors under his control in the Auckland area, where his territorv will extend over the northern half of the province. Mr. A. C. Crawford, who has been traffic inspector in Hastings for the past four years, will take Mr. Ainsworth'.s place in the Hutt Valley.
