THORNDON CIRCUIT The quarterly meeting of the Thorndon Methodist Circuit was held on Tuesday night at Kaiwarra. The Rev. J. Richards presided, the Rev. A. _M. Costain being associated with mm. There was a fair attendance of officebearers. , „ The circuit stewards, Messrs. C. H. Hain and C. R. Ridding, were cordially thanked for past services, and reelected. Mrs. H. Payne is to represent I the circuit at the forthcoming annual ! conference at Auckland. b To Miss ! Sinclair, who has been actively identic fied with the Kaiwarra Church, and who is soon to leave for Dunedm, thanks and felicitations were extended. . , Arrangements were made for the annual harvest thanksgiving services in March. Finances were said to be encouraging, there being a considerable reduction in the circuit debt. It was reported that Gift Sunday at the Karori Church had resulted in an offering of £170. Home mission effort had reached nearly double the amount contributed the previous year, and nearly £100 had been raised for foreign missions. Reference was made by the chairman to the post-diamond jubilee celebrations of the Thorndon Church to be held in May. Jn the devotional period of the meeting, a programme of spiritual activities for the year was outlined. The Kaiwarra ladies were thanked for the
dainty supper provided by them.
