SPANISH CONFLICT
A meeting of the Wellington Trades and Labour Council last night passed a resolution to organise relief and assistance for the Spanish workers. With this end in view a committee is being set up, which, it is hoped, will co-ordin-ate the representatives of the whole of the industrial and political Labour movement. "The situation is viewed with grave concern by the workers of New Zealand and we think it is time that the general public joined with the workers in this country in helping to provide food and clothing for those in the distressed areas in Spain," said Mr. F. D. Cornwell, secretary of the Trades and Labour Council, today.
