CANTERBURY FARMER

LEAVING ENGLAND AT

WEEKEND

LONDON. October 22.

Mr. E. Clark, a New Zealand farmer, aged 29. who is on holiday in London, is starting at the weekend on a solo flight in a single-engined aeroplane to his home in North Canterbury, which he hopes to reach in time for sheepshearing in the middle of November.

His longest flight hitherto has been to Switzerland. ' .

"I am not out for records," he said. "I shall decide when I reach Australia whether to attempt, the Tasman Sea crossing."
