FRENCH ARMS FACTORY

STRIKE TERMINATED

PARIS, October 17.

In the'interests of national defence the Government has requisitioned the important Sautter Harle armaments factory, where a strike has been in progress for over a month owing to tha dismissal of two men. The management declined Government arbitration, and the Government's decision was welcomed by the 1600 workers, who have promised to resume work on October. 19 under Government engineers. The Employers' Federation has protested. The factory is engaged in turning out equipment for the two new cruisers Dunkerque and Strasbourg. It is also announced that the Government has decided to nationalise all factories producing equipment for the French air force.
