British trade returns for August are: Imports, £66,057,000; exports, £35,258,000; re-exports, £4,355,000.; Principal increases: Imports, grain and flour, £1,161,000; dairy produce, £347,000; beverages, £462,000; wood and timber, £440,000; iron ore, £313,000; cotton and raw waste, £1,677,000; iron and steel, £416,000; oils and fats, £417,000. Exports, vehicles, £413,000. , Decreases: Imports, fresh fruit and vegetables, £832,000; rubber, £630,000. Exports, coal, £414,000; iron and steel, £391,000.
