TRAVEL CLUB RECEPTION

There was a very large assemblage at the Palm Lounge of the Hotel St. George this morning when the Wellington Travel Club.held a reception in honour of Mr. John Morgan. The lounge was gay' with flowers, rose coloured ones predominating.' There were "brown wicker baskets with rhododendrofts, branched rose camellias, and also berried holly, while "the tables were fragrant with; pink-tinted stocks and spring flowers. Rose-shaded lamps added to the good effect. . Excellent morning ,tea was served, and a brief but delightful little programme was given by Miss Florence Penney, who gave some of her "Songs at the Piano," and Miss Doris Black sang two bird songs, '!Cuckoo"; and "The Dove." Each item received hearty applause. Mrs. C. Macdonald was the accompanists

The members of the committee who were hostesses for the function were Mrs. James' Payne, Mrs. G. C> Stewart, Mrs. Marshall Macdonald, Mrs. Vernon Sutherland, Mrs. Max Wall; Misses Amy Kane, D. L. Tanner, and N. E. Donovan (secretary). There was a very representative gathering of people, and all listened with close attention to the interesting ■• speeches made. - .. '. '-.' ■' ■"
