MR. R. TREWERN'S PLANS

On his way to Australia, and thence to London, where he intends to enter upon the career of a professional Binger Mr Eay Trewern, well-known Wellington tenor, was farewelled by a large number of friends and admirers when he left by the Maunganui this afternoon. Among those who bade him au revoir were Mr. Barton Ginger, president, and Mr. S.-G. Cresswell, secretary, of the Wellington Competitions Society, as representative of which Mr. Trewern will sing . in. the Melbourne "Sun" aria contest at Ballarat and Melbourne early next month. • Mr. Trewern also intends .to compete in other vocal classes at the Ballarat competitions and to obtain broadcasting engagements in Australia.
