DRIVERS' DISPUTE

The New Zealand Federated Drivers and Related Trades Association of Workers made an application several months ago for a new award. The employers objected to the claims of the workers and submitted counterproposals as the basis of settlement. The claims and counter proposals, which have been published, were considered for some time by the Conciliation Council, and the conference was ultimately adjourned. The hearing was resumed today, and after further consideration of several of the clauses a committee was appointed to confer on certain points, and the council adjourned till this afternoon.
