MIRACULOUS ESCAPE

(Received April 27, 9 a.m.)

NEW YORK,

April 25.

By a miracle the life of a two-year-old- boy was spared today when his mother, holding the child in her arms, jumped directly in front of a speeding underground train. A note left indicated that the woman intended to destroy herself and kill the child, but as the two hit the tracks the child rolled between the rails and, although several cars went over him, he suffered only scratches. The woman was killed instantly.
