WASHINGTON, April 23.
Clements was further questioned by the committee which is investigating the Townsend Plan today and, whereas previously he fixed his yearly compensation at 12,000 dollars, he admitted that he had received a total remuneration of over 77,000 dollars during two and a half years with the Townsend movement. This included salary, dividends from publication, and expenses. Asked if he ever personally contributed to the "cause" of old age pensions, he rep'ied: No.
