HUTT BAPTIST CHURCH
The annual meeting of the Lower Hutt Baptist Church was held, recently. The report of the secretary (Mr. W. S. Carey)- showed-that the past year had. been- the most successful in the history of the. church. The attendances at Sunday services both morning and evening and the attendances at prayer and Bible study meetings during the week had all. greatly increased, while the membership showed a 50 per cent, increase. A feature of the work was the growth of the Sunday school, which, under the superintendency of Mr. H.- Pargetter, was growing in numbers and efficiency. During the year a Christmas tree and a picnic had been given to the scholars, and the anniversary services had been most successful. The Bible classes, under Miss A; Jones and Mr. F. C. Perry, had shown great development. ' The women of the church had, through, the agency of the Women's Missionary. Society and the "Social Hour," been of great assistance to the rhurch.
The success of the church had been largely due to the work of the Rev. F. Hayes Lloyd, who had accepted a unanimous and enthusiastic invitation :o the permanent pastorate. His /igorous personality and preaching had seen greatly appreciated. The report of the treasurer, Mr. N. 3reen, showed an improvement in the lnances.
A bouquet, was presented to Miss M, Tindlater as a token of esteem lor her ervices as organist
