RIFLE SHOOTING
PETONE CLUB
The Petone Rifle Club fired a competition counting for the Longfield handicap aggregate at Trentham on Saturday, the range for the day being 500 yards.- There was a fair attendance, but for the most part shooting conditions were difficult. During most of the afternoon a light misty rain made sighting extremely difficult, and the flags, being wet, did not give a true indication of the strength of the wind. Some good range scores were recorded, however,- there being in all ten scores equal to, or better than; the club standard, of 47.:
There will be no club shooting-on Easter Saturday/but W. J. Mclverand W. H." Ballinger will represent the club in the special teams 'match, Wellingtori Rifle Clubs versus New Zealand Universities. •
The range for Saturday, April 18, will' be 800 yards, when the final of the club championships, Flaws Cup, and series competitions will be fired.
