TATTOOED "TERROR" DEAD
■■Raymond Petit, 'known also as "Raymond the Tattooed" and- "The Terror of. Grenelle,'? was\ shot dead by police •in a, t Paris cafe recently. Petit, who terrorised the v district of Grenelle, derived his- nickname because of-, the amazing number of tatoo marks on his body. Teh days previously he shot a woman, and he had been hunted by the police. He was a notorious apache, thief, and blackmailer. When the police heard he was in a cafe they surrounded the building, and after-. wards entered in force. They saw no sign of Petit," and were about to leave when they noticed a small back room which they had not searched. They entered to find Petit under the table. He brandished a revolver and threatened to shoot to kill, but the police fired first Fourteen shots were discharged, and then the police removed the table. Petit was found to be dead.
