NEW 'ZEALANDERS' ASSOn.r/ CIATION
A memorial'hail .'which would be dedicated to Maori and pakeha pioneers was proposed by the newlyelected president of the New Zealanders' Association, Mr. C. Mclntyre, at the association's meeting last night; '. Mr. Mclntyre said that it was the association's most urgent desire to have erected such a hall which, would accommodate approximately a thousand persons. He suggested that co-opera-tion in the collection of building funds might be received from the schools. He was confident that the money could be raised. - A "brick" scheme to collect 250,000 bricks was discussed in detail. One of the objects of the association, Mr. Mclntyre said, was to look after the interests of New Zealanders, and particularly to see that those born here were not dismissed to make room for immigrants. The association was also interested in the encouragement of cultural interests in New Zealand and in the development of local talent through broadcasting. Much greater favour should be shown- to New Zealand artists i in the preparation of radio programmes. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. C. Mclntyre; vice-presi-dents.'Mr. R.
