TREATMENT OF DOGS

A plea is made by "Poor Dog" for greater scientific "investigation of the disease whiJi is dreaded by dog owners—distemper. Human medicine has made great advances, and in other branches of science there has also been notable progress, as evidenced in the attacks made upon the white butterfly and bidi-bidi pests. Yet distemper still causes great suffering and many losses among dogs. The correspondent does not blame the veterinarians who make the .best use of the knowledge'at their command. \i is submitted, however, that if leading scientists could be induced to give attention to this disease a sure and safe method of treatment would probably be discovered and would save the lives of many dogs. .
