MAORI MEMBERS JOIN

It is expected that the strength of the Labour Party in the ■ House of .Representatives will shortly be increased to 55. The twoßatana Maori members—Mr. E. T. Tirikatene (Southern Maori) and Mr. H. T. ' Ratana (Western Maori) have made application for full membership of the Labour Party, and the applications will be considered by the National Executive next week. Messrs. Tirikatene and Ratana will be associated witli the Prime Minister (the Hon. M. J. Savage) in his administration of the- Native' Affairs Department.
