THREE PEOPLE HURT
CARS IN COLLISION
ACCIDENT AT CORNER
A collision between two motors vehicles at the corner of Adelaide Road and Colombo Street, about 7.30 yesterday evening, resulted in three people being taken to hospital with injuries. The injured persons were all in the one car, which, after colliding with another vehicle, ran into a telegraph pole at the street corner. They were:—
Mr. W. P. Sanders, of 12 Severn Street, Island Bay, company manager, fractured leg and shock.
Mrs. Netta Sanders, the driver oi the car, severe bruises about the leg and face.
Miss Daphne Sanders, their daughter, severe cuts about the head and face. „
All the injured persons were taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance, but Miss Sanders was later able to return home. Mr. and Mrs. Sanders were reported to be making satisfactory progress.
It was stated that the vehicle driven by Mrs. Sanders was proceeding along Adelaide Road when it came into collision with a vehicle driven by Mr. O. W. Johnson, who was accompanied by his sister, Miss D. B. Johnson, the crash occurring at the junction of Adelaide Road and Colombo Street. After hitting the Johnsons' car the other vehicle continued on some distance, finally striking the telegraph pole. Neither Mr. nor Miss Johnson was injured.
