WELLINGTON CLUB

In the semi-finals of the Wellington Club's senior championships yesterday, E. S. Toogood beat S. M. Watson, 14 and 12, and D. O. Whyte beat J. C. Peacock, 5 and 4. Whyte and Toogood meet on Sunday next in the final.

Toogood played brilliantly in the morning round, hitting a long straight ball off the tees, using his irons like a veteran, and being sound on the greens. His card read: Out, 443434453 —34; in, 444543334—34.

The qualifying' round for the John Ball Baffy was played on Saturday, and the winner was found yesterday in E. O. Hales, 2 up. G. A. Mills finished all square, P. W. Blundell 1 down, and W. J. Hutcheson 3 down.

The annual dinner at the clubhouse on Saturday night proved thoroughly enjoyable.
