CHRISTMAS SPIRIT

KHANDALLAH MEETING

The spirit of Christmas was in" evidence when the members of the Khan- ; dallah Branch of the League of Mothers met for their final meeting of the year. The Khandallah Town Hall was tastefully decorated with flowers and foliage for the occasion, making a charming setting for the gathering.

There was a particularly large attendance of members and friends. Kelburn, Hataitai, Ngaio, Hutt, Wadestown, and central branches of the league were represented, as also were all the other women's organisations in the district. Most of the visitors took the opportunity of extending to the branch their Christmas wishes.

The gathering took the form of a social afternoon, and entertainment was provided by Mrs. Bollinger's "Sunbeams," whose items were greatly appreciated. Mrs. Morrish and Mrs. Philpot sang several delightful songs, and the newly formed singing circle rendered a Christmas carol.

Afternoon tea was served by the committee, special attention being given to the children.
