HERE AND THERE

I Pleasant Bridge Party. At the home of Mrs. L. C. Dunn, Kardri, a very pleasant bridge afternoon was given on behalf of the Tailwaggers' Club. The drawing-room, lounge, and sun-porch were bright and cheerful with many flowers, bowls of beautiful roses being the chifef feature of the decorations. A delicious afternoon savoury tea was served, and prizes- were won by Mrs. P. S. Peterson and Mrs. M. Phelan. The guests were received by Mrs. L. C. Dunn, who was wearing an apple green frock with white rucking at neck and sleeves, and Miss Eileen Biggs, who wore lemon with black trimmings.' Among those present were Mesdames P. S. Peterson, D, W. S. Know, H. Cane, J. Lewis, A. Samuels, J. Zachariah, .M. Player, J. Murphy, J. Black, G. Riddell, M. Phelan, E. Kofoed, F. Lonsdale, A. Bannister, H. C. Murray, J. Harle, J. Edwards, M. Hyde, J. Ryan, and G. Cooper. Musical Evening:. An unusually interesting musical evening was given recently by Mrs. I. Stephens and Misses ,I. and G. Kennedy at Miss Lorna Black's Studio, Lambton Quay, to a large and most appreciative audience. The items included a fine sonata for violin and piano by Walter Rabl, played by Mrs. I. Stephens and Miss Grace Kennedy; two brackets of piano solos by Mrs. Stephens from the works of Chopin, McDowell, Dohler, Mozart-Backhaus, and Liszt; and a suite of Russian and Swedish folk songs and dances arranged by Max Bruch, played by Misses I. and G. Kennedy. Among the audience were Mrs. Sprott, MrsColeridge, Mrs. and Miss C. Gow, Mrs. Ginn, Mrs. Montgomery Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. John Lewis, Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Kennedy. Mr. and Mrs. Coventry Mr. and Mrs. F. Grady, Mrs. and Miss Andri Bevin, Mrs. and Miss Casleberg, Mrs. E. C. Cachemaille, Mrs. Clark, and Misses Christie, Barron, Hussey, Francis, Hamilton, and M. Newton.
