FOR FULLER-HAYWARD

As the result of an arrangement completed between the Fuller-Hayward Theatre Corporation, Ltd., with which is joined John Fuller and Sons,; Ltd., and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Ltd., all the latter's products will be screened exclusively by the ?uiier-Hay ward Corporation and its associates in all towns throughout their circuit. ■ ;

The contracts were signed by Mr. L. A. Quinn, for the exhibition interests, and Mr. David Lake, general sales - manager of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, who came from Sydney for the negotiations, and' with whom was associated Mr. P. W. Maddock, general manager for x Metro-Goldwyh-Mayer in New Zealand. ; Mr.^ A. R. McElwain, on behalf of Fuller-Hay ward's, said yesterday that they had handled this service 'this year and in previous years, but conditions were now considerably different in $hat the Fuller-Hay ward organisation would be breaking, next month, certain pooling arrangements at prejment binding it to other exhibiting interests, arid, with a few exceptions it would thereafter operate solo.' In Wellington the Metro product will be shown exclusively in the Majestic and St. James Theatres, and in. Auckland city in the St. James and Majestic. There will be changes, too, in certain provincial towns. . : "We are naturally very pleased with this big deal, which means that we maintain an amicable relationship with MetrorGoldwyn-Mayer that has existed for many years," said Mr. McElwain. "In the past.year Metro-Gold-; wyn-Mayer have given us a series of outstanding successes—'Naughty Marietta,' 'David; Copperfield,' 'Forsaking All Others,' 'The Painted Veil,' 'The Thin Man,' 'No More Ladies,' and 'Sequoia'—just to mention a few. "For 1936 the company has acquired a variety of splendid stories, that should appeal to all tastes. To such favourites as Norma Shearer, Clark Gable,; Joan Crawford, Charles Laughton, Greta Garbo, .Robert Montgomery, William Powell, ' Wallace Beery, and Myrna Loy have been added such personalities -...as Ronald Colman, Grace Moore, and Fredric March." "Marie Antoinette," with Norma Shearer. "Maytime," with Grace Moore. "I Live My Life" and "Glamour," with Joan Crawford; "Robin Hood of El Dorado," > with Warner Baxter. "After the Thin Man," a sequel to the original story, with William Powell, Myrna Loy, and "The Thin Man" cast. "This Time it's Love," with Jessie Matthews and Robert Montgomery. "O'Shaughnessy's Boy," with Wallace Beery and Jackie Cooper. ■- "Anna Karenina," with Greta Garbo and Fredric March. "Broadway Melody of 1936," a musi-cal-comedy with Eleanor Powell, an amazing dancer. Laurel and Hardy, will appear in feature films as well as short subjects. v , Supporting features. for 1936 will include a series of Charlie Chase, Thelma Todd-Patsy Kelly, and "Our Gang, comedies; a number of "Star Musical" revues in technicolour, several Pete Smith "Sports Parades," and "M.G.M. Miniatures" with Pete Smith, and Chic Sale; also a selection of the popular "Fifzpatrick Traveltalks" in technicc*.ur, several "Happy Harmonies" cartoons, also in colour, and a ; regular supply of Hearst Metrotone Newsreels. Among the novelties will be a'series called "Crime Doesn't Pay."
