COLLISION SEQUEL

DAMAGES AWARDED

•Damages were assessed by a jury in the Supreme Court yesterday in two cases arising out of a collision at the foot of the Paekakariki Hill, on the Wellington side, on December 17, when Neil Peder Kristian Holbeck, and his wife, ' Kathryn Holbeck, received injuries. Holbeck, who had his left hand partially disabled as a result of the accident, claimed £1000 general and £69 18s 6d special damages. His wife, who suffered yiinor physical injuries, but said she had suffered considerable mentally, claimed £500 general and £31 6s 9d special damages.

The defendant, William McKenzie Angas, was the driver of a car which collided with the plaintiffs' car. He admitted liability.

The jury awarded Holbeck £150 general and £61 lls special damages, and his wife £25 general and £31 6s 9d special damages.

Mr. A. Dunn appeared for the plaintiffs, and Mr. E. Parry for the defendant.
