WEBSTER TELLS WORLD

The world is now learning A. D. Webster's views on. the. "deplorable state" of racing in the Dominion. A Reuter message cabled from Melbourne to London last month reads:— "Racing in New Zealand is in a deplorable state, according to Mr. A. D. Webster, a well-known New Zealand owner-trainer, and who has also a number of horses in training in Australia. It will continue to get worse, he said in an interview, until bookmakers are licensed and taxation is eased. Ninety per cent, of the racing public, trainers, and owners want licensed bookmakers, yet still we cannot get them.".
