COL. W. H. CUNNINGHAM, C.B.E.

, Colonel W. H. Cunningham, C.8.E., is a well-known Wellington barrister. He was educated at Wanganui High School and Wanganui College. During the war he served in France, Belgium, Egypt, and at Gallipoli. He commanded the Second Battalion of the Wellington Regiment from March, 1916. until the end of the war, with the exception of a period of three months when he was in charge of the Reserve Battalion and Reserve Brigade at Sling Camp. He was mentioned four times in dispatches, and gained the D.S.O. and the Order of St. Stanislaus, third class, a Russian decoration.
