THE BROOKLYN ROAD
(To tfie Editor.) Sir, —Again one has unfortunately to draw the attention of the City Engineer's department to the way work is carried out. The department started before Christmas to carry the kerbing of the Brooklyn road. At Christmas it stopped and \did not do any more work until newspaper correspondence stirred it into activity' .again and so the kerbing was completed up to Thompson Street. Now nothing further is being done to prepare the road surface for tar-sealing as was promised.; The city authorities know full well that the • motor traffic is breaking the bylaws in using this road and they know the present conditions are dangerous to all road users, yet nothing is done. Why does the engineering department not complete the job before the men are taken away? Nairn Street has been pre-.; pared at great cost for tarsealing, yet .nothing is done to finish the job ahd every, storm washes tons of fine road filling into the storm water sewers.—l am,, etc., BROOKLYN ROAD.
