LEAP TO DEATH

AUCKLAND, March 26.

After buying a newspaper from a vendor at 7.20 this morning Simon. Hazelton, aged 42, a single man, formerly employed as a cable joiner by the Auckland Power Board, jumped, from Grafton Bridge into the gully below and was killed instantly. The j sensational leap was witnessed by the newsvendor, a bus driver, and several other people'who were on their way. to work. The body was found by the police in a grass patch near the Grafton Road end of the bridge. The skull was fractured and there were also other injuries. The deceased, who came to New Zealand from ,the North of Ireland, has no relatives in New Zealand. It is understood that he has money in the bank, and also property. :

An inquest was opened and adjourned after identification of the body.
