TRIBUTE TO HER EXCELLENCY
The WoWn's Borstal Association committee met' - yesterday ; - at:, the Dominion Farmers' Institute for the first time this year; There was a great deal of work in the way of correspondence and reports, as there 'was no meeting in December. The Targe" majority of the reports .'were, satisfactory, and,were received from many parts of the -Dominion,-, showing :the kind thought of the- associates* and; also of the clergy and others, to whom appeal had-been made for help in investigating and arranging suitable places-for the girls. The chairman (Mrs:' M. H. Chatfield. J.P.), stated that the work in Palmerston North would be taken up again, by a kind and" efficient associate. ■ Mrs. Tait, Mrs. McNeil,, and other members gave reports about the probationers situated .in or near .Wellington. •Tentative arrangements were made about the annual meeting, which will take place next month. Regret was expressed at the coming departure .of her Excellency,., Lady Bledisloe, who had shown continued interest in the work, and great kindness to the girls, and a tribute was paid to the help which her countenance to the association, as president, had been to the. work. Members of the committee arranged, to organise some entertainments now the holidays are over to assist the funds .of the association, which have been much depleted during the year by the many demands made for help. j
