PEPPER AND PISTOL WOUND
"SYDNEY, November 9. While carrying bags of, money, the pay-roll "of a local department store at Darlinghurst, today, tyro men were attacked by bandits. Pepper was thrown in their eyes and a shot firetf.- 'The sum of £20 was taken. > ' * f ' The bandits escaped. in a waiting motor-car. The victims of the outrage were George Oakman,' aged 66, and Leslie Plyb, aged *44.-. The former was shot in the groin. ' The pair are in hospital, and in no danger,'but suffering from intense pain from the pepper.
