The Anglican Chmch, Takaka, Nelson was prettily decorated in shade 3 of pink and mauve for the wedding of May, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Davies, Takaka, and Prank Hilton, elder son of Mr.:and' Mrs. J. W. Boyce, Wellington. The Rev. Mr. Evans perfoimed the ceremony.
The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore an exquisite gown of shell pink chiffon. Her embroidered' tullo veil matched the small cap of plaited chiffon, with bandeau: of- orange, blossom at the back, which confined it-to her head. She carried:a beaafiful bouquet of pale pink roses and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids, Miss Marie Hobbs (Wellington) ana Miss Joan Lash. (Takaka), wore . pretty frocks of pale mauve chiffon, with lace insets and lace mittens. Their matching picture, hats were trimmed * with streamers and they carried floral muffs to tone. The flower girl, little Ann Hanoran, wore an early Victorian frock of shell pink georgette, bonnet to match, and carried a basket of pink roses.
Mr. A. H. Boyce, Wellington, was best man, and Mr. A. J. Davies, the bride's brother, was groomsman." The bridegroom's'gift to tho bride i\as a roso quartz neeklaae, and to th*e biiaesmaids and fljnver girl he gave gold bangles, engraved .with • their names. On leaving the church, the bride was presented with i a satin horseshoe by little- Margaret" Tayler, aha the local "Brownies" formed a guard of honour, tho f bride being "Brawn Owl" of the -Takaka pack1. A reception vras held in the garden of tho bride's home, where a largo marquee, erected on the lawn, was decorated with pink and mauve- streamers. Mrs. Davies rceoivod the guests, wearing a blue marocain frock', hat to match, and shoulder spray of lily of the valley. ' Mrs. Roberts, Takaka, the bride's giandmother, wore a black silk coat and toque. The bridegroom's mother wore a brown maTOcain ensemble with, shoulder spray and hat to tone. Mrs. W. Schierning, aunt of the bridegroom, wore a navy and white onsemble and hat to match. The briSe and bridegroom left for a tour of the Noith Island, tho bride travpUing in a fawn ensemble, hat to tone, and fur stole. Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Boyce will resiae in Christchurch.
