WEDDINGS
-\ "BE AD—STEWART. A wedding 'of . interest to' a wide circle of friends 'was celebrated at St. Rorian's Presbyterian Church, East-boux'ne.-Teceotly, when Eileen Marjorie, eldest daughter of -Mr. and Mrs. F. Stewart, Eastbourne, was married to Hector. Lcign. -.Read, "younger son of Mrs. A. Head and'the late' Mr. F. Read, Wellington, the ceremony being conducted by the Rev. E. B. E. Boss. The interior of the church was beautifully decorated with f arum lilies and lycopodium By friends of the bride. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a gown of ivory satin with la high cowl neckline and a yoke joined to the bodice by a narrow pleatling. The skirt was moulded to the jknoes and then flared towards the back • and finished with a pleated train. A 'silver' tasselled girdle completed the frock. An old Limerick lace ,veil, worn over the face, waa caught at the 'back with orange blossom, and a shower bouquet of cream roses was carnea. Misses Lois ana Kathleen Stewart, sisters of.the*' bride, were bridesmaids. Their frocks were of parchment lace over 'satin with net fichus, held in place with posies of forget-me-nots and wide blue sashes which fell to the hem of the frocks. Circlets of forget-me-nots wero worn on their heads, and they carried bouquets ot cream tulips. A crystal necklace, the gift of the bridegroom, was worn by each bridesmaid. * The bridegroom was attended by Mr. W. Kitching as best man and Mr k J. Bealo as groomsman. , During the signing of the register a solo was given by Miss A. Bowie. A reception was held at the pavilion, Day's Bay, whore the guests were received by tho bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. Stewart, the latter wearing a black lace and mariette frock and black hat. Mrs. A. Read, mother of the bridegroom, wore a black and white frock and black hat and coat.
When; Mr. and- Mrs. H. L. Read left for the north by car the . latter was wearing a Hams tweed costumo aud hat to tone. '
