SUCCESSFUL DANCE
SONG TITLES SHOWN
A recent dance held by the Kilbirnio Homo and School Association brought forth an original idea. The committee had arranged that everyone should represent a song, and the result was very gratifying, also humorous, aiid Miss D. Spinks, who acted as judge, had quito a difficult task in awarding the prizes.
The awards wore mado as follows:— Ladies: Mrs. T. Reade, "I Ain't Nobody's Darling," 1; Mrs. P. Fair' brother, "Tea for Two," 2; Miss M. Holmes, "Won't You Buy My Pretty Flowers," 3; highly commended, Miss K. Rhodes and Miss McDougall, "Two Little Girls in Blue." Gentlemen: Mr. E. Sherwood, "Singing in tho Rain," 1; Mr. G. Pirio, "Pudden Headed Jones," 2; Mr. A. Wills, "Another Little Drink," 3. Others were:—Mis. S. Tucker, "Soul of Mine"; Mrs. G. Tallin, "Little Brown Jug"; Mrs. G. Pirie, "A Beautiful Picture"; J. Kitehing, "Sweet and Low"; Mrs. Kitehing, "Lilac Time"; Mrs. F. Sherwood, "Bubbles"; Mrs. Milburn, "You'll Get Heaps of Lickings"; Betty Blackie, "I Cling to Ivy"; Mr. Milburn, "Parted"; Mr. G. Taplin, "After the Ball"; Mr. T. Reade, "Any Bonos"; Mr. Chick, "Two Lovely Black Eyes"; Mr. G. Blackie, "Pal of My Cradle Days"; Mr. Roberts, "Honey." A good programme of modern and old-time dancing had been arranged, and everyone was well catered for. Prizes were awarded to the winners of the different novelty dances. Mrs. Irwin sang delightfully and was heartily encored, and Miss M. Flaunigan gave some clover exhibitions of tap dancing which were well received. The- ladies served an excellent home-made savoury supper, and a very pleasant- evening ended with the singing of " Auld Lang Syne."
