LAUCHLAN GOLF CUP
A meeting of representatives from the various social clubs met on Monday to arrange for the match for the Lauchlan golf dip. The donor, Mr. J. B. Lauchlan, was appointed chairman. Others present were Messrs. C. N. Beasley (Central), R. E. Bennett (Wellesley), C. W. D. Bell (Wellington), H. J. Shanks (Working Men's), A. Marsden (captain, Miramar Golf Club), J. L. Gishard (Civil. Service), T. H. Gibson and R. E. Selby (Commercial Travellers' Club). '
It was decided to hold the competition on Wednesday, September 26, at the Miramar golf course. If the weather is unfavourable the match wil be held on the follow day. Messrs. . Mar.=den and Bennett were appointed postponement commit■tee,- and Mr.'. Beas-ley was again .put in charge of the "lOlh."
The conditions of play are to be the same as last year. Miniature cup j'are to he. piven to the winning fourball instead of shields, and Mr. Lauchlan has promised to give a trophy for the best net score.
