REGIMENTAL PIPE BAND

There was a large attendance at the danco of the Wellington Eegiment Pipe Band (Drum-Major Hobson) held on Saturday night in the Legion of Frontiersmen's Hall. Piper E. Black was M.C.

A truly Scottish programme was thoroughly enjoyed by all present. The smart uniforms of the pipers blended well with the charming frocks of the ladies The Highland Sehottische and several folk dances ware entered into with traditional enthusiasm. Pipers C. Stewart and W. McEae delighted everyone with their duets. A special feature was the splendid Highland dancing by four of Wellington's leading national dancers, Misses Margaret Oates, Jean O'Connor, and Masters Stewart and MeEae, who earned rounds of applause for their spirited exhibitions of the Eeel of Tulloch, Highland reel, sword dance, and Irish jigs. Piper J. Morrison played for the dancers. A dainty supper was served by the of&sers, and the singing of "AuldLang Syne" concluded a memorable night. Among those present were PipeMajor McLennan arid Mrs. McLennan, Mrs. C. Sonder, Lieutenant Williams and Mrs. Williams, Captain Boss, Lieutenant Geere-Watson, Lieutenant Melvor, Drummer Whitaker (secretary).
