PRINCE HENRY'S VISIT
ELLERSLIE SUMMER MEETING

AUCKLAND, August 10. Two events on the programme for the Auckland Racing Club's1 Summer Meeting at Ellerslie have been named in honour of the visit of the Duke of Gloucester. Both these- races are steeplechase events, which have not been held in the summer for many years. 1 On the first day of tho Summer Meeting (Boxing Day), the Gloucester Steeplechase, of £1000, will replace the Graftoil Hurdles, of £350, and on the fourth day, the Sussex Steeplechase, of £500, will replaco tho Auckland Hurdles, of £350. Hurdle ra'-ces will bo retained ou the second and third days. The Gloucester Steeplechase hae, been so named as a tribute to the Duke, who will bo in Auckland at the time. The name of the Sussex Steeplechase has been chosen in view of the fact that the Duke will be travelling on the cruiser Sussex.
