GENERAL NOTES
Thoi'Brooklyn and Olympic Harrier Clubs ran together from, Island Bay last Saturday over a gruelling courso of about eight miles. • The packs kept well bunched till Brooklyn was reached, when a solid run was made right through to Island Bay, via Mornington and Bcrliampore.
The next important cvont for local harriers is tho Vossclcr Shield teams race of ten miles, which is 'to bo held on August 4. The date of this race is somewhat out of tho order expected when training schedules were arranged. This,; howevor, /should not -affect the entries as it is in a good position to wind up the longer training, runs prior to some speedy work for tho provincial championships. Tho race should not even affect tho speed of aspirants for club championship honours; as most clubs are holding their championships at least, a fortnight after the Vosselcr Shield.
King and McGee, of the University Harriers^ arrived home with the traillayers at a (run held from Kelburn, having left the joack behind.
